As charming and friendly as The Landing is, it’s also the gateway to BC’s Sunshine Coast. “The Coast,” as it’s familiarly known, reaches from Langdale to Lund, taking in Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Porpoise Bay and Sechelt Inlet, Halfmoon Bay and Secret Cove. Beyond Sechelt you’ll enjoy the stunning Pender Harbour archipelago, which embraces Garden Bay, Madeira Park and Saginaw and Ruby Lakes.

A 30-minute drive beyond takes visitors to Earl’s Cove ferry terminal, from where a short and equally spectacular saltwater crossing takes visitors to Saltery Bay and the northern Sunshine Coast, the historic township of Powell River and the offshore Islands of Texada and Savary.

For those venturing beyond the Sunshine Coast, Gibsons also offers an ideal stopover point for the spectacularly scenic Circle Tour that embraces virtually all of the Sunshine Coast Peninsula, as well as mid-Vancouver Island. After that, a scenic drive to Nanaimo’s Departure Bay ferry terminal puts travellers back on course for Horseshoe Bay and the city of Vancouver. For details of the Coastal Circle Tour, check the BC Ferries website, but be sure to build in a few days to explore all that Gibsons Landing and the southern Sunshine Coast have to offer.
